The Career Development Center works with students across academic disciplines to define and create their unique visions by connecting their passions to a meaningful profession. By engaging employers, colleagues and the community, the career development team works to develop opportunities for professional preparation through inclusive and progressive career-related services, programs, and events.
The Career Development Center seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Director to oversee, support and expand the college’s academic internship program. Reporting to the Director of Career Development, the Assistant Director coordinates and administers all phases of the Academic Internship Program and collaborates on other on-campus applied learning initiatives. The AD will also serve on a team of career counseling professionals, providing Career Counseling/Coaching support for the student body in both liberal arts and the arts.
Education:
Master's degree required; higher education, counseling & guidance, student personnel, and related strongly preferred.
Experience:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in career development counseling/coaching, job-search coaching, and graduate school or academic advisement.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating/administering an academic internship, applied learning, service learning or other high impact learning program.
• Proficiency with career management systems (i.e. NACElink Symplicity, Handshake, or Purple Briefcase.)
• Experience with database management and career services-related resources such as Interview Stream, Focus, etc.
• Teaching a career development course experience a plus

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
• Excellent oral and written communications; Strong presentation skills;
• Strong student advocacy and experience with diverse student populations
• Excellent project follow-through ability; attention to detail a must
• Teamwork skills, strong group presentation skills, focused on student interaction/relationships;
• Analytical, reasoning and problem solving skills;
• Experience with visual and performing arts field a big plus.
• A positive attitude with a sense of humor helpful.
